PERMACULTURE-ing my PAPA
Bismillah.
My parents were here for two days, hardly. They arrived on late Thursday afernoon (18th May 2013), They came all the way from our kampung by car .My mom is very loyal to hospital -scheduled appointments ....:(....so she comes for her regular bood-pressure & sugar-level tests at the Klinik Kesihatan Kesihatan Kajang. That's what a good service is worth for - all the way from the southern part of the peninsular ...an hour an a half wait in a crowded waiting area merely for a cholesterol test....which could have been easily done in town .
Along with the doctors's medication ,she does continue with whatever alternative remedies 'presribed ' by me.Her sugar level is 10 and blood-pressure - 137. That's not bad , although i am hoping for lower readings .She's been good at sticking to the health-diet - fenugreek , olive oil, ginger , +Ganoderma Coffee coffee etc . But I have a feeling that she's starting to cheat on her bedtimes , having to give in to my Dad's lures to keep him company while he watches his 'wrestling'.He is such a great fan of this sport , the reason for which is unfathomable to me. Nevertheless.As far as I can remember he has always loved this show ...Hence, when he was discharged from hospital( after a major operation , involving the aorta) two years ago...when my siblings were each trying to convince him to stay with them, one of the determinating factor of his choice was who has Astro... Lol.
The problem is we don't have Astro anymore.We decided to terminate the service several months ago, having agreed that it does more damage than good. My father would normally head for the TV and put on his favourite programme. We (me & Mom) were getting restless by his idlings.... awkward ...time seemed to crawwwl. I wished I could send him somewhere else ( where there is 'wrestling') for the night but he refused ...because he insisted on tagging along to the clinic on the following morning.
My DH came back from work,which was relieving ....he is good in entertaining my old man.Sure enough.They both went upstairs ,leaving me & Mom space to catch-up with women talks......After several hours of peace .we began to wonder........To my delight, the son-in-law was going through his +Permaculture Design video with the father-in-law. ...something useful for a change??
The morning after : After my DH left for work, there was only me & my parents eating breakfast in my kitchen, which faces my husband's initial attempt in gardening ( looks more like a belukar ).Like it or not , he was ready to share his newfound topic.......coining the course he learnt the night before with the case-study plot in front of his eyes ......and two students (had to oblige) ......
